Choosing a woven wrapping width for cable coils
Provide the coil outside diameter, width, weight and cable surface requirements. Discuss wrapping width, roll format, colour and fastening method. Check the sample against the cable finish and the intended handling route. If reuse is planned, agree an inspection and replacement rule rather than assuming that a used wrap remains suitable indefinitely.
Include the coil’s inner opening and any projecting cable ends when describing its shape. Show how it rests on a support and how it will be moved. A width that covers a straight surface may behave differently around a tight curve.
Confirm how the wrap is secured at the beginning and end. Check that the fastening does not damage the cable surface or leave a loose part that can catch during handling. Include the proposed fastening method in the sample trial.
Inspect the trial coil after the usual transfer and storage sequence. Look for exposed surfaces, rubbing marks and loosening at overlaps. Keep the accepted roll specification with photographs of the wrap pattern, label position and approved handling access.
Confirm your specification
Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.
