What ventilated stretch film can and cannot do
Ventilated stretch film allows air exchange through openings while retaining a wrapping function. It can suit goods that need airflow, but the openings also reduce the barrier against dust and moisture. Identify the product and storage conditions before choosing it. The film does not by itself guarantee freshness, cooling performance or suitability for direct food contact.
Start with the reason air needs to move around the goods. Some operations need to avoid trapping warmth or moisture; others need access to ventilated containers. Describe that requirement alongside the weight and stability of the load.
Check the complete packing arrangement, including labels, trays and covers. Openings in the film cannot help if another layer blocks the intended air path. The container design and pallet stacking pattern should be considered with the film.
Compare the condition of the goods and the restraint of the load after representative handling and storage. Record both results. A wrap that improves airflow but permits unacceptable movement has not solved the complete packaging problem.
Confirm your specification
Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.
